to herself, the whole time she’d been sitting in the airport, trying to figure out a way to get to him, she’d

been suppressing an ever-growing panic, and not just because he was her best chance of staying alive.

Somehow, it had gotten personal. A thousand worries had been plaguing her. Worries abouthim: Where

was he? Was he okay? What if the mirror had inadvertently gotten broken? Would he die? Would he be

stuck in there forever?
